5. What can I expect to happen once I subscribe?
Prior to the next holiday we will install a sleeve on your property to hold the flagpole that will be placed and removed for each of the five holidays. Normally, a few days prior to the holiday, a Rotary team will place a flag in the sleeve and then return to retrieve the flag the day after the holiday. The schedule of placement and retrieval may vary due to inclement weather.

6. Do I have to be present each time my flag is installed or removed?
No; however, we may need to meet with you prior to installation of a sleeve in which the flag will be placed each holiday. (See: “7. How will the flag be installed on my property?” below.)

7. How will the flag be installed on my property?
If you have a particular location in mind, please let us know by calling 513-593-9601 or including a note on your subscription form, otherwise, we will place the flag in our standard location which varies with each neighborhood. We will install a metal sleeve approximately 12” long and 1” in diameter in your yard into which we will place the flag pole on the five designated holidays. The top of the sleeve will be flush with the bottom of your turf or landscaping so that it will not interfere with your mower. A yellow plastic plug will be inserted in the sleeve to protect it from filling with debris. A small amount of Roundup may be applied around the plug to make it possible for the installation team to find the plug. The plug will be removed when the flag is placed and be reinserted when the flag is retrieved. The sleeve will remain in place; ready for the next holiday.

8. Can I request a specific location for the flag to be installed?
Yes. Generally, we would place the sleeve near your street. However, if you have a preference, we will install the sleeve wherever practical, allowing for overhead and underground impediments.

9. Which holidays will my flag be placed?
Memorial Day, Flag Day thru Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veterans Day. Typically, we will place the flag several days prior to the holiday and remove it the day after the holiday.

10. Can I have more than one flag?
Absolutely, we would be pleased to install flags at more than one location on your property. A discount of 15% is given at check-out for each additional flag subscribed in that cart.

11. What if a sprinkler pipe or utility line is broken during installation?
Hopefully the markings from OUPS (see answer #7) and your knowledge of your underground piping will prevent this mistake. If we do harm something, we will arrange to repair it right away.

12. Tradition dictates flags that are flying at night should be illuminated. Do we get a light with our flag?
